International brand design & consultancy for Omni, Hong Kong
Bury based Wilson Cooke have just completed their second international branding project, working with Hong Kong based Omni Sport Trend and Technology to launch a new own brand fitness equipment range. The project involved development and launch of a new brand, product design, website, photography direction in Beijing, an exhibition in Denver and supporting literature.
"We were approached by Omni and Professor Simon Bolton earlier in the year to work in partnership with them to deliver a new home fitness range. Omni has years of experience developing and manufacturing products for well known brands and decided it was time they had a go on their own. From the start the partnership worked really well, our branding experience and their product knowledge resulted in some great solutions. The exhibition in Denver USA was an outstanding success and we got to work with some great people including Americas' most trusted fitness professional, Clark Bartram." said Wilson and Cooke Creative Director, Lee Whittingham.
"You see lots of great products that are developed overseas that are let down by poor or unsuitable branding. The response this product range has had and positive comments on the branding goes to prove that when you get it right, the world is your oyster. As this project ran so smoothly we are looking to develop further relationships with international manufacturing clients."
"For the brand we wanted to develop a simple distinctive icon that could be applied to different materials. A striking mix of a very round 'o' with the addition of a small tail to give it an overall feel of movement was the final chosen design. Logos within the fitness equipment industry all seem to have a very similar feel and we wanted ours to stand out and get noticed."
Wilson Cooke will continue to work with Omni to expand on their existing product range, the new website www.omniitrainer.com will be launched in August 08.
