There is always great debate over the iPhone v Android war of words. You might read that the comprehensive interface for andriod trumps iPhone time and time again, but that the iPhone is brand and beauty dominated. It's like pitching a Saab against a VW; essentially the same underneath but we all know which one we'd rather have.
Me personally? I was an avid iPhone user, transcended to Android and now I can safely say I am wanting to go back to iPhone. Admittingly I fell for a tall, leggy blonde of a phone that had 3D capability. What discerning and impulsive early adopter wouldn't have done that? She was beautiful and still is. But always knew deep down my vain and narcessistic side would not regret dumping the iPhone back in 2010.
The spark for this article? There was a really beautiful iPhone concept photo that came out early last week and wow. Check it out here, it's stunning. Alas, Apple have already announced that the screen size will remain at 3.5" so this concept remains exactly that, but that's not to say that it won't have edge display, or the new retina display, or NFC (near field communications), or 4G. Infact, it will probably have all these things and yes, I understand I'm talking about hardware here not software, but I think the hardware is 50% of the battle.
If I am purely talking about software what would I choose? Well, let's not leave Windows out of the running, the new Windows 8 platform integrates seemlessly with the modern application status quo. Check out a demo of how Windows 8 works here, much like the Windows phone - very modular and colourful in design and, from what I've played with, an incredible processor that just doesn't wear or tear. It's stunning and seemless, but the "Windows" brand and market is not as unbitiquos as "Apple" and because of that the app market will never grow to the size of the Apple market. Which is a shame. But I do feel like I'm being seduced all over again...
